Help me give my students a more comfortable and independent learning environment. The Surf Portable Lap Desks, floor chairs, and Bouncy Chair Bands will allow students much needed movement during their long school day.
My students come from very different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are located in Speedway, IN., just outside of Indianapolis.
We celebrate growth in our room, and my students are very enthusiastic and self-motivated.
I allow them to move often but our options are very limited. Does anyone remember having to sit on uncomfortable chairs all day in a classroom? I do, and it wasn't fun. My students would not only love more comfortable seating options, they would also excel with them. My expectations are very clear when it comes to getting work done, and I am very confident that my students would be very grateful with more seating options to continue to grow and push themselves as young learners.
My Project
Our classroom is currently set up with limited choices in seating. I provide many opportunities to move and engage in active discussions and projects. However, when students are asked to work independently, they are left with their chairs and desks.
I can picture the looks on my students' faces if they were able to walk in and see new furniture options.
The bands would allow for movement at their desks without causing distractions. The lap desks, garden mats, and floor chairs would allow comfortable floor seating for independent work. Our stools would provide comfortable seating during our small group lessons. My class would thrive with more seating options!
