Comfortable Seating for Comfortable Learning

My students need to have a reading rug for our whole group read aloud and whole group lesson. They also need stools to sit on for our guided reading table.

My Students

My students are hard working and dedicated to doing their best. They love to volunteer in the class and help other students. They are some of the most caring young people that I have met. The students in my classroom come from a low-income district and all of the students in the school receive free breakfast and lunch.

They face many challenges outside of the school, but try not to let that affect them as students.

They work hard in school to succeed. I try to keep things fun and positive while providing my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My Project

We need to have a comfortable place for whole group and small group. Having the rug will make learning more comfortable. When the students can be more comfortable they tend to be more focused and learn better. I want my students to be comfortable and feel like they are at home.

When students have a place that they feel safe and comfortable at they will be more focused and eager to learn.

These padded seats will add more comfort to our guided reading table. The students will use these daily when we meet to discuss books, work in small groups, and work with partners. It is hard to stay focused when you are sitting in a hard chair at a desk all day. Students who are able to work in a more comfortable environment tend to be more focused and work better.
