I teach 20 young six and seven year old students. Though they are young, they are already engaged in school and learning so many new things. The rigor that is expected at such a young age is both exciting and exhausting for them. But, my students walk into our classroom every single day full of life, excited for the day, and ready to learn! They love being at school and I love teaching them!
My students are clever, creative, and very eager to try new things.
This project will give them a chance to continue developing their love of learning and their love of school. Finding out how much fun learning is at a young age is vital to school success throughout their entire career. I want their classroom environment in 1st grade to reflect a fun, motivating, and safe space for them to grow into life long learners.
Let's get comfortable in 1st Grade!! I love having some fun seating options in my classroom. In my experience, kids do better learning when they have the option to get out of their stiff chairs. I have always had several different seating options in my room. I like to keep various chairs, stools, wobble chairs, cushions, etc. for options. The class is free to choose the seating option that will help them do their best work during independent reading and work time.
My students are noticeably more engaged and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a comfy choice to do their reading.
The products that I have chosen for this project include three new bean bag chairs. There are fun and colorful options for my kids to choose from. I know my class will love choosing a bean bag for reading time now. It allows for their own space to focus and be engaged in their book. I can't wait for us to use them in class this year!
