My students will be entering my classroom next year as sixth graders! As a teacher I have found that sixth grade students greatly benefit from the ability to utilize flexible seating options in the classroom! Sixth graders are passionate learners who like to get involved with thier learning. Movement and flexibility would play a huge role in giving these students the ability to engage in their learning in a new and exciting way. Our school is a title one school in Arizona and many of the students can benefit from a classroom that feels like a home.
My Project
These seating options (comfy seats, stools) will give my students the opportunity to learn in an exciting and comfortable way. I teach these sixth grade students English. In our classroom we need to be able to move around frequently. Currently, the high number of students and limited variety of seating options causes our room to be very limiting. We would like the ability to work with literature study groups in a comfortable setting. We would like to be able to move around when reading through a play or creating a video summary! My students are full of creativity and eagerness to learn. We just need a classroom that is set up to fit our needs!
