My students need 2 carpets for our reading and board areas. Both are used daily and not having carpets to sit on makes it uncomfortable and not easily utilized.
Story time, reading lesson, math lesson and center time are just a few of the reasons our classroom needs new rugs. The previous rugs were old and stained and not suitable for my students to use everyday. Students are not comfortable sitting on the cold, hard tile floors.
My students are precious!
They enjoy working together and reading together. In second grade some are just becoming fluent readers and finding that one author that intrigues their spirits or interests. Some are faced with daily challenges and lack of support at home. Yet, they come to school eager to learn and be successful. Our school provides a great education and is full of wonderful, loving teachers. We want what is best for our students and try to give them a safe, loving, learning environment.
My Project
Having new rugs in front of the board and in the reading area will give my students that comfortable area to learn. These areas will be utilized for centers, group activities and whole group lessons daily. Children cannot be expected to sit at their desk all day, allowing them to come to the carpet and work together creates a fun, creative learning environment.
It is my desire to make our classroom warm and inviting.
New rugs will give them the appropriate space to work together or read that special book alone. It will also give us two more areas of learning and not limit us to only learning from our desks. Thank you for supporting teachers and students!
