My Students

Many of my students are low-income/high poverty. They are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students love working on computers, but due to Hurricane Harvey, our lab lost most of our computers.

We are now housed in portable buildings, and using the computer lab at a school next door, which doesn't have enough computers for every student in each class.

My hope is to provide stability and an engaging, fun environment for all of my students. They are bright, amazing kids with unlimited potential!

My Project

Dependable listening devices are such a need in our computer lab! The headphones that were saved after Hurricane Harvey are beginning to show its effects. So many times the foam comes off the ear piece or the headphones are cutting out.

My goal is to have enough headphones in the lab so my students can continue to work when a pair breaks.

When this happens, I am borrowing from another computer IF it is not in use. Having backup headphones would be such a bonus in my class, ensuring that my students don't have to wait for an available pair.
