My Students

I have a class full of high-energy students that love to work hard. They show grit and resiliency in learning difficult second grade content. These students spend a lot of time working in small groups. Many of them need individualized instruction in order to be successful in reading and math.

Students love to learn by reading interesting books!

It is important to provide them with books on their reading level, so that they can get the most out of their reading.

My Project

My students need this carpet and sit spots to ensure that they have a comfortable place to gather during our community time and lessons. We spend a large amount of time gathered together on the floor during our school day.

Gathering on the carpet helps the children direct their focus towards the lesson, while being comfortably surrounded by their classmates.

Having a comfortable carpet is so important! Sitting on the hard tile floor can be very uncomfortable for my little learners, and can distract them from the lesson. By having sit spots, each child is provided with their very own place in our community of learners.
