Our school serves school students grades 7 through 12 and is located one block from City Hall. Students live in many areas of the city. For the most at-risk students, those with habitual truancy, significant behavior issues, and histories of suspension and expulsion, the goal is to change behavior so that these students will stay in school and earn enough credits to graduate.
This year we are creating a series of classes for "life skills" where students can choose projects & activities that include history, science, literacy and art! Grant writing helps students be clear in the descriptions of what they want, how they will be leaders & why the class needs these chairs.
Students are often restless & agitated when they come to class.
With comfortable bean bags & soft chairs, students can relax & learn in a quiet atmosphere.
Students looked at several seating options & then decided these were the chairs they wanted for their grant.
Bean Bags and soft chairs are comfortable & easy seating! (Right now students try to take the teachers chairs!) these chairs will be a great option for students who need to relax as they learn.
