Comfortable And Focused, Help Us Choose Our Seats!
Help me give my students flexible seating options. My students have demonstrated that they perform better when they are comfortable and focused. Wobble chairs and sitting desks are the choices they've been asking for!
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Two-thirds of my students come from a low income household without many resources.
This doesn't stop them from being ready and excited to learn each day. They push me to be a better teacher so that they can reach their full potential every day!
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, sitting under tables with clip boards, or sitting or laying on the floor with a clip board. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The wobble stools allow movement for the students that just need to wiggle a little. The sitting desks allow students to be on the floor but still have a stable work place, which allows them to utilize their Chromebooks on the floor safely. The round pillows allow students to move anywhere around the room that works best for them. The stadium seats allow for seating at a table I had lowered for the students that like to work on their needs or just be closer to the ground.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
