Help me give my students comfortable seating such as bungee chair and saucer chairs in which to read for enjoyment as well as some computer chairs to work at the computer.
Our school is a rural school in a one red light town in middle Georgia. While our budget may be small, my students' desire to learn and excel in life is great! They walk in the door every morning yearning to learn something new. I love to pour into them and try to foster a love of learning. Our class motto was adopted from Eleanor Roosevelt's quote, "I must do the things I think I cannot do!" My job is to convince them that they are capable of doing so much more than they give themselves credit for.
My Project
My ultimate goal is to create lifelong lovers of reading. It is a known fact that the more a child reads the more prepared they are for whatever curve balls life throws at them.
Who wants to read sitting straight up at a desk?
Not me, and not my students! My students need many options for comfortable seating in which they can read for enjoyment. These saucer seats, bungee seats, and seat cushions will do the trick! We also need a couple of computer chairs so that my students can work on the computer in comfort. What seems trivial to some, means the world to an 8 or 9 year old!
