My students need comfort in the classroom! Please help us continue to extend our flexible seating with a new futon along with more ottomans and stability balls!
I teach at a low income/Title 1 school district in a medium sized borough of Schuylkill County. My students vary in academics and behaviors. I teach Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtII) classes. My goal each and every class period is to provide students with the enrichment and remediation needed to be successful learners.
My goal within my classroom is to provide a relaxing, yet exciting learning environment for my students to develop as life-long learners.
My classroom already has a different look with blue light filters, and a few different seating options. I want my students to be comfortable so that they could enjoy the learning environment. We have come a long way from rows and pushed in chairs!
My Project
My students get excited to enter my classroom and pick out a comfortable seat! Flexible seating not only provides comfort, but also motivates students to come in and learn. We so far have stability balls, ottomans, and yoga mats. We are excited to continue to get more flexible seating options, to eventually get rid of all chairs!

Eventually, I would love to only have comfortable seating in my classroom such as more stability balls, ottomans, and yoga mats, but now I would also like to add a futon! I can't wait to see the look on students' faces when they walk in and see a comfortable futon seating option in the classroom!
