This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I school in Washington, D.C. We don't get much funding for the students and it can sometimes effect our student in learning more. My students are anxious to learn new things and be exposed to new experiences.
There are so many needs for these students and I just want to make sure they have the best chance at succeeding.
My students come in every day eager to learn, and it is my hope to have a classroom set up to help them be their best. We are in need of more books for the children to choose from.
My Project
These materials will make my students more comfortable in their own carpet spots. The carpet we have is too small and starts a lot of arguments. With a bigger carpet, the children can continue to learn and be comfortable while doing it. Also in our library, the kids aren’t as comfortable sitting on the hard carpet we have. So providing soft cushions can also allow them to be taken away by a book and allow them to wonder in their imagination of a good book. The writing caddy’s will help with organization for their teacher and themselves. We are becoming amazing writers and any help needed I don’t mind giving them.
