Help me give my students alternative seating options such as Wobble Chairs and Floor Seats so that they will be more comfortable when working on assignments in the classroom.
There are 15 students in my first grade class. I have a very diverse group of students. I find that classrooms are full of magical learning moments. It will be exciting to see the growth these students will make this year and I am excited to see how these supplies impact our class.
This is my 19th year teaching and this group of students are amazing!
The students' learning styles and abilities are very diverse, but they are eager to learn and always try to do their best. Our school is rural with predominately low-income to middle class families. There are approximately 500 students at our Pre-K to 5th grade elementary school. We have a very supportive and active parent-teacher association.
My Project
Many first graders have trouble concentrating and sitting still in a regular classroom chair! Six and seven year old children are known to fidget and squirm, instead of listening or focusing on the task at hand.
These Wobble Chairs and Floor Seats will give the children options to move about the classroom and find a more comfortable place to sit where they can do their best work without being stuck in a hard chair.
The flexible seating options will help with small group activities. It also gives them the opportunity to move away from the group to a quieter spot with fewer distractions.
