Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a urban district where students are at school from 7:30-3:30. They receive free breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Our teachers serve a dual role as educators and parents. Our school kids are passionate about learning and truly love coming to school.
My students need flexible searing such as floor pillows, cushions, and special chairs.
All students have different needs to help them access the curriculum, attend to the lesson and feel comfortable in their learning environment. Flexible seating will help provide to their needs.
My Project
The floor pillows, cushions, and special chairs will add to our current flexible seating classroom. Our students enjoy having special seating options which provide comfort during learning. It also gives them a sense of choice and control over their learning environment.
Often times, students have difficulties attending to the lesson and flexible seating options can help.
Who wouldn't want a welcoming and comfy classroom? As an Intervention Group classroom, we have no more than 12 students at a time. This allows for flexibility with setup, desks, tables, and seating. After seeing how some of our seating options were a big hit last year, we wanted to expand our options!
