Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to Art class with wonder in their eyes, passion in their hearts, and the courage to venture the unknown. They are creative and highly enthusiastic when it comes to Art class! They love to explore new media, experiment with different techniques, and have the freedom of choice in a variety of ways.
To see my students' faces light up with animation after they have discovered something new is a treasured sight to behold.
When my students feel they have made a mistake on their work of art, they think critically about how to change those mistakes into masterpieces, and become proud of their endeavors. My students treat creating art as an adventurous journey into the unknown with quizzical challenges, exciting discoveries, and enlightened rewards.
My Project
I currently have flexible seating in my classroom. I have two tables that are low to the ground, so students may sit on the floor. They absolutely love it! Currently I am using carpet squares for them to sit on; however, they have been slipping and sliding all over the place.
It would be safer and more comfortable for my students if they had one rug under the floor tables for them to sit on safely.
I have stools in my classroom, but I need two more for one of my tables in order to minimize chairs and have more space within the constraints of the art room.
I added the 40 marker packs because my students LOVE markers, and the majority that we have are dried out, and ready to be sent to Crayola for recycling!
