My Students
My first graders love learning! They are creative, thoughtful and full of wonder! They definitely keep me on my toes and want to be challenged. They absolutely love hands-on challenges that allow them to find solutions. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies such as group work, flexible seating options, and learning options to ensure that each of my student's needs is met.
They are a remarkable group! While they are learning every day, I am learning so much about each of them, myself and my teaching daily. I look forward to every day to see where it takes us.
My Project
With the uncertainty of school in the fall, the option of using flexible seating may be limited. I provide my students with a lot of choice when selecting an independent work area. I'd like to provide students with their own wobble cushion to use for the school year. Research says that when children are comfortable, they are more engaged and ready to focus and learn. I've found that the wobble cushions are a hot item in my classroom for comfort when sitting in their chairs. I want my students to come into class in the fall feeling comfortable and safe.
