My 4th graders are hardworking, motivated, caring, and eager to learn students. They like to have the opportunity to work in small groups or with partners. This project will help to improve my classroom by giving us a space to meet and make learning fun.
We are a public school located in Cullman, Alabama.
More than half of the students are from low income households. My school is a Title I school and we do have a high number of students receiving free or reduced rate lunches. We are a Leader In Me school and are providing students with opportunities to be leaders
My Project
As a teacher who loves to work with the children one on one, in small groups, or as whole class, this horseshoe shaped table will allow me to work with small groups to the best of my ability.
Having this horseshoe shaped table will allow for a better flow between students in a small group learning space.
It gives me the opportunity to be able to focus on the group itself and each student in the group. I will finally be able to do guided reading appropriately. Guided reading gives students the chance to apply strategies they already know to a new text.
