I am very fortunate this year in that I have a special group of inquisitive and tenacious learners. They are my superstars and always strive to do their best every day. They are highly competitive and enjoy novel experiences. Their love of learning is inspirational and keeps me going especially in these tough times.
I am very fortunate to share a classroom with them.
They like sharing their knowledge with their classmates as team captains and little teachers. They look forward to sharing their connections during our read alouds. Then they compare their rough drafts during writing. Lastly during science, they are my little scientists who like to ask questions, make observations and find answers. I am very blessed to be their teacher.
My future writers are just learning about how writers write. We have practiced the writing process in all of its steps but the one process they most enjoy and spend time on is the pre-writing step. This step begins with painting a picture with characters and a setting. I often tell them that the more detailed their drawing is the more they can write about. My kinder kiddos enjoy exploring and engaging with different mediums in the classroom. The use of the tempera paints will allow my students to be creative and help them produce a rich tapestry to write from.
