Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My First grade students are "Terrific Tigers" and are always striving to do their very, very best. Despite the many challenges that may prevent them from learning such as neighborhood gang violence and poverty, the students and just as important, their parents, commit to making a difference.
My young Technology and Leadership students are always eager, motivated and driven to learn even when they don't have the necessary educational tools at their disposal.
So whenever a project gets funded their excitement to learn totally increases.
My Project
The 9 by 12 carpet is a simple necessity when teaching first grade students. It will allow up to 30 students to be assigned a spot on the "Learning Carpet" where we can begin every morning as a community and support each other as learners.
My first grade students will be more attentive to the story or lesson that is being taught therefore, success and focus will be greater.
The carpet offers additional seating options to make learning more effective and engaging.
I know my students will be very appreciative of the "Learning Carpet" and it will really make a difference in the aesthetics of the room but most importantly help them focus.
