My students are cheerful, outgoing, competitive in a friendly way, have lots of energy, and have complete confidence in themselves.
They are eager to learn new and creative ways to be active and staying healthy at school and for life-long living.
Many of our students participate in a variety of sports and clubs outside of school. I want those students that don't participate in sports to have an opportunity to be active at home with family and friends.
Let's Move, Get Active.
My Project
How did the game get its name? The Pritchards had a cocker spaniel named Pickles, who became interested in this new game. Whenever a ball would come his way, he would take the ball and run off with it, because you see, it was Pickle's ball. The Zume Games Pickleball Game Kit will provide our students the equipment necessary to start a school pickleball club.
Why should kids play pickleball?
Because they genuinely love it. Like other sports and activities, pickleball will increase their confidence. An increase in confidence will spill over into other areas of their lives like school. Pickleball is known for being low-impact, buts it’s certainly not low-cardio. Students will be red in the face by the time they’re done playing. Kids are far more likely to participate in pickleball if they have previous racket sports experience. This is even true even if they’ve played other sports like baseball. Students that participate in our pickleball club will have the opportunity to receive the benefits mentioned as well working on teamwork and sportsmanship.
