Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach 2nd grade at a TitleI school in Norfolk. Although, I haven't met my class this year, I have developed relationships with some last year. Students this age love to show off what they know to their teacher and peers. We are going to need a place in the classroom where we can come together to focus and learn collaboratively. A horseshoe table for small groups would greatly help in making the time I have with them more productive.

My Project

Small group time it the best time to get to know a student and really touch on their individual needs. I would love to start out this school year with a routine of coming to a cozy meeting spot. With routine and consistency this is going to be an amazing year of teaching and learning. This table will place them in the perfect position to achieve success in their educational journey. Please help me to help the next generation. Our young scholars deserve to have the very best and I will make sure this table will never be collecting dust.
