Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my second graders have been part of the Two-Way Spanish immersion program since kinder. They have learned to support each other with their language development skills and with their unique needs.
My second graders are like the four seasons; energetic, curious, adventurous, and most of all eager to learn and try new fun and exciting things.
Their love for learning is transmitted with joy after grasping new concepts and ideas. Hands on activities bring excitement and increase their desire to learn.
My Project
I want to create a flexible seating environment that allows my students to choose seats that are comfortable, something better than a basic metal seat and desk. I brought in a recliner, which is the most popular choice, and I’ve got a unique option in a chair that looks like an alien (so the students say). There are tables of different heights and bucket seats with cushions. This project will allow for more seating options that will engage and increase students performance by giving them a comfy seat choice or a standing desk option. This new seating options will benefit students individual, partner and team work.
