Were you ever a victim of bullying? Did you know someone who was bullied? Help put a stop to bullying at school!!! My goal is to create a "bully-free zone" and teach students how to treat each other in a positive way.
My students are 5th graders that are hungry for knowledge.
They are all English Language Learners that comes from low income homes. Our school is a public school. ALL of our students qualifies for the free meal program. We are a Title I school as well as a Performance Improvement school. Many of my students are struggling to learn and understand the English language. My students are already facing the reality of living in a high poverty area that increases their susceptibility to stress, frustration, and peer pressure. This leads to an increase of bullying in school. My students need to know how to deal with being bullied and how to not become a bully.
My Project
Bullying has become a huge problem in society today. Having access to books about bullying will provide an opportunity for the class to read about how bullying makes everyone feel. We will be able to discuss bullying from the perspective of the bully. Students will create posters with tips to prevent bullying using information they acquired from their cooperative groups. The brochures and posters will be printed using the ink cartridges to teach other students in the school.
With your donations, you are helping to provide my students different avenues towards stomping out bullying.
The book will help students understand bullying and how to avoid it or deal with it when it occurs. Help us create a caring, anti-bullying community where all are valued, and cooperation and respect is the norm.
