I am a speech therapist in a Title I school in a small town in Alabama called Calera! My students are full of energy and eager to learn! They love hands-on activities and multi-sensory learning activities!
A diverse group of children cross my path each day.
Different skills and supplies are needed to cover articulation, language, fluency, voice, AAC and more!
We would love to add hands on language activities with colorful, visual manipulatives for the children to access when they come to speech. We have new resource rooms with a variety of learners and skills that need a variety of activities to add to their success in learning. We would love your help adding these to our classroom! Thank you so much!
My Project
Colors are associated with different meanings and impact learning in so many different ways. That is why we want our classroom to have colored ink for materials.
Colors speak volumes all on their own.
In fact, color is so powerful, that it can improve learning by up to 75 percent and increase comprehension on a subject by up to 73 percent. (Excerpt from Nayomi Chibana, Visme)
While warm colors communicate energy, optimism and enthusiasm, cool colors send a message of dependability, professionalism and peace. Blue may calm the child's mind and body, yellow may promote concentration and stimulate memory, pink may promote calmness, red may give the child energy, and green may improve reading, speech and comprehension. (Excerpt from Colors for Children)
It is very important for all of our activities to incorporate color. Colored ink cartridges provide a way for all our our teaching materials to have a splash of color. This will impact teaching materials made for picture symbols, word wall words, vocabulary, articulation, language, books, and communication notebooks.
Thank you for supporting our classroom and providing a splash of color into or materials that supplement our learning!
65% of the population are visual learners! (Nayomi Chibana, Visme)
