A typical day in my classroom is where the teacher allows students to be creative, collaborative thinkers. My Grade 5 students are a heterogeneous group of students who are curious thinkers who enjoy moving about the classroom and using various spaces to work. Day to day, the students love exploring, researching, and creating visual projects. They enjoy hands-on activities and are active participants in all lessons. My students should have what they need in the classroom at all times to help them succeed. DonorsChoose.org can make this happen for them.
My Project
Flocabulary will give my students access to great technology and educational software that will get them excited to learn. Flocabulary has been such a positive and wonderful addition to my classroom in the past and I would love to continue using this website. Flocabulary has upbeat tempos that the students enjoy singing along with, added with the component of quizzes and questions to reinforce the skill being taught.
Help me give my students coloring resources for the classroom.
We are in need of notebooks, pencils, colored pencils, and crayons so my students can keep colorful and informative interactive notebooks. Students participate in Readers Workshop daily and we create anchor charts in a notebook to keep track of our thinking. These books at the end of the year are a great resource for students. By providing my students with coloring materials, they will be able to retain more information that is taught as well as increase their engagement in learning. These supplies will be used to enhance our Readers Workshop and keep track of our thinking using Interactive Notebooks.
