My students enter school each day with a big smile on their face, eager to learn! I follow our school's vision and help my students develop a love for learning, build a solid academic foundation, and prepare them for the future.
I teach in an elementary school in rural eastern North Carolina.
We are the only elementary school in the county. Many of our students come from military families due to the local military bases.
Our parents are hard-workers that try to provide the basic needs to their children and are active in their child's education. My school also has a very involved Parent-Teacher Organization that tries to help meet the school's needs.
My Project
Kids love and are more attracted to bright and colorful things. I am asking for black ink along with colored ink to print out things for my kids. We are limited to black/white copies at our school. Therefore, I have to use my classroom printer to print colored things. Printing multiple activities uses the ink up rapidly and is left up to me to replenish it because lack of school funding.
Having ink would allow me to print out games, my kids work, and take home books all in color.
We like to play math and phonics games to reinforce learned skills. Since I don't have enough leveled books for my kids to take home I am able to print them off our reading program. We are also beginning to learn how to type stories on the computer and insert a picture. Begin able to do all these activities in color would help children become more engaged and bring them to life.
