This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are vibrant and energetic. They can be very caring and compassionate to both their teachers and classmates. They love to share their experiences and family time with the class. Through literacy students are encouraged to make text to self connections, showing likenesses and differences of themselves to the characters from the stories that we read. It opens them up to a world of possibilities! During these discussions, students can build the social skills that they so love to utilize while they are learning!
My Project
Currently, they have to take their chairs with them to the computers and guided reading centers. When they have completed the work in that center, they take their seats and the new group repeats the same progress.
These stacked seating will make it possible for my students to move to various centers around the room without having to drag their own seats there.
This seating would not only be less noisy but take up less space. We would easily have the ability to stack them under the tables and work stations where the students would be working. It would also save valuable teaching time!
