My Students
My students are some awesome superheroes with some super needs. A few of them come from Spanish speaking homes, and others are considered low socioeconomic, but you couldn't tell just by looking at them.
Despite struggling to read and comprehend, their enthusiasm for learning is contagious.
They have a strong desire to achieve and that makes me want to do even more. In this digital age, there are several basic skills that are being left behind. I want to give them everything they need, and you can help.
My Project
Taking notes in school was always a dread of mine as a student. I have recently learned about picture notes though and want to implement it in my classroom. With picture notes, students are drawing, using different types of lettering and symbols along with color to help them remember the key concepts. They are able to make these notes their own and by using colored pencils and notebooks to draw in will make them more interested because now it’s about drawing. In addition to the picture note-taking, students can use foldables and other techniques to make the information memorable.
