Colorful Literacy

Help me give my students culturally relevant graphic novels to read for pleasure, colored pencils and markers for projects and art, as well additional access to primary sources and visual heavy textbooks.

My Project

Having access to a wide array of culturally relevant and appropriate books is such a vital piece of the classroom. My students are vivacious readers who get excited when they can find the books they are looking for, or when they can discover a book they can't put down.

My fifth graders are multimodal learners; bringing in cross curricular integration can encourage students bring a variety of their skills to the forefront of their learning.

Using the Colors Around the World markers and colored pencils will enhance their posters and allow students access to draw pictures of historical actors as accurately as possible.

Art materials, graphic novels, and a few different types of social students and history texts will allow my fifth grade readers, writers, artists, geographers, and learners to deepen their experiences when in the classroom. Thank you for your support!
