Hello! I am a 1st year special education/dual language teacher who is very excited to meet her students ranging from K-2nd grade. Many of my students come from Spanish-speaking homes, where there is very limited English exposed. Some of my students will be part of a general education class, where the majority of the resources are only provided in English. I will be supporting my english language learners in their educational needs & they could greatly benefit from this item. My students deserve more for their education & with your help we can create a strong implementation of how dual language learners are an asset to our community of learning!
My students are KIND, ENERGETIC, HAPPY and EAGER to LEARN!
They need the support to become more aware of how language functions in various modes of communication across the curriculum.
My students will be starting the school year in a vulnerable state as some will be attending school for the very FIRST time. I want to set them up for success & help them build a foundation of dual language arts skills in order for them to become successful throughout their school journey.

My Project
My students are in the K-2nd grade levels, all with different diverse learning needs. The majority of their learning will be presented in both English and Spanish. Everyday, my students use visuals heavily throughout the day for their learning and benefit greatly from them. In our classroom, we have the English words presented in Blue and the Spanish words presented in Red, along with various visuals aligning with the student's learning need.
The opportunity to have a color printer in the classroom would allow me to print engaging colorful visuals and vocabulary words on demand, with the needs of the students met right away!
Visual tools my students benefit from include PECs visuals, classroom item labels, name labels, first/then boards, visual colored schedules, social stories, bus/home routine procedures and visual cues for behavioral and communication just to name a few!
My students all have very diverse needs and the printer would be a great asset for the students to have in the classroom. Independence is our goal!
