This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a class of enthusiastic Kindergarten students. My students are extremely dedicated and grateful. They manage to persevere outside of the financial limitations that they are faced with at home. I teach in a Title I school where a majority of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. It makes my heart smile to know that, despite those factors, that they strive to do their best every day so that they can reach their learning goals day in and day out.
My Project
The colored copy paper will assist in helping my student retain the information learned in the classroom. Whenever something is color copied, my students find it different and exciting from the regular white paper. This results in their engagement in the lessons. The peppermints will provide a extra boost in my students learning and helps them focus. The students are given peppermints any time they are testing, and I feel they are more focused and perform better in the classroom. I want my students to be in a classroom where they can succeed and be their absolute best. In a nutshell, supporting student performance is what this DonorsChoose project is all about.
