Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a School-Based Teacher Leader, focused on math and science instruction in a wonderfully diverse inner-city public school. My school is lucky enough to have students representing over 30 languages. Many of our students are new to the country and are beginning to master the English language. Our students come to school each day ready and motivated to learn.
Despite their many differences, our students work hard together, motivating and inspiring each other to do their best.
We are facing many budget cuts and our kids do not always have the supplies and resources they deserve. We do our best to buy, gather, and trade for the things they need, but there is only so much we can do alone. Together, with the help of people like you, we can make a true difference in the education and lives of these super important children we serve.
My Project
Finding a place to print out student work and student rewards in color is unheard of in my building. This printer will allow me to print out student work in any color they choose. It will also allow me to print our reward certificates to help my students celebrate their accomplishments!
Imagine creating a beautiful rainbow and having it print in shades of black and gray.
This is the reality for my students. When they create and type a story they enjoy including pictures just like a true author. I will from time to time print their colorful picture from home but this can become costly very quickly. This printer, in the convenience of my classroom, will allow my students to create their masterpiece!
