Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in my classroom starts out with greeting my 25 wonderful students. They come in ready and eager to learn. For many of them, English is their second language. My goal is to make learning fun!
They are some of the sweetest and hard-working students I have ever had.
Our school is often underfunded and the little funds they have are used for other things other than art or social studies. Priority is placed on test scores, rather than the growth of the whole person.
My Project
With your help and generosity, I hope to bring the world to my students. I want to increase their knowledge of the past so they can help humanity in the future. With these social studies books, I envision sharing stories of important individuals who have affected how we live today. I want my students to journal and draw about how these stories make them feel. With the art materials (crayons, markers, pencils, and erasers), my class will create thematic murals to display in the hallway.
Your donation will improve my students in every aspect of their learning.
They can use the art supplies to write and draw to express themselves after story time. My goal is to make my students more socially aware by reading the selection of books chosen of important people, places, and things that have affected humanity.
