My fourth-grade students are exceptionally creative, eager to learn, and want to please. They are the reason I love getting up in the morning and coming to work. They love to write stories, illustrate them, and decorate the room with what they have been learning.
These eager learners deserve all the resources available to have their hard work come alive.
They are so appreciative of even the smallest of rewards or positive feedback. They are what makes learning interesting and fun.
With the limited funding our schools are facing, we don't always have the resources available to have everything we need. I often ask parents to donate supplies not only for their own child, but for the classroom as well. Having a color printer available would make a world of difference for the students and class environment. Schools can barely cover the costs of printing on black and white. Color printing is out of the question. Not everything will be in color, but often that little bit of sparkle that exhibits their pride of ownership in the class goes a long way.
