My Students

I teach preschool special education. My classroom has 35 students who have a wide range of abilities and special needs as a result of their individual diagnoses. My wonderful students arrive each day eager to learn through exploration and play.

Students in my classroom have cognitive, speech, motor, and sensory processing delays .

Because of these developmental delays, my students require individualized instruction to help them develop fine motor, gross motor, speech, school-readiness and academic skills needed for kindergarten.

Our wonderful school community and staff work hard to meet the unique needs of our students.

My Project

Access to a color printer, ink and cardstock will allow for the creation of colorful and engaging visual icons and picture supports. These picture icons and visual supports will assist my students as they work to develop their receptive and expressive language skills in the classroom.

A color printer will allow for the creation of individualized materials for my students to help with their specific communication and language development needs.

Colorful visual supports that my students will be able to use across school settings and throughout the day will lead to excitement and engagement in receptive and expressive language activities.
