Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are made up of both special education students and some regular education students that have been admitted to the Behavioral Medicine Hospital to accommodate their therapeutic needs. They have been through a variety of horrible situations are at this site so they can have in depth therapy.

My Project

My students come to me in many shapes and forms and are here for behavioral therapy. Many have been removed from their homes and have been through horrible situations that no child should go through. Some only come with the clothes on their backs. We provide them a safe, structured environment to bridge the gap between home and other learning institutions. This will provide them with colored maps, charts, graphs and diagrams. Color helps my students focus, remember and categorize their work. Color often helps students make visual connections that they would not otherwise make. Teaching during the covid pandemic has made it very challenging for my students to stay focused.
