My students love coming to school! They quickly realize we provide a safe learning environment with a consistent routine designed to their specific needs. Our classroom provides the foundation to all of their future learning experiences!
My students all have special needs and are preschoolers ages 3 to 5.
They have been identified as having delays in their cognitive abilities, speech, physical skills , social skills, and or self-help skills. Their needs vary greatly, and they each have individual goals. Our school is considered high poverty and many receive a sack lunch to take home on the weekends.
My Project
A color printer will enhance the children's learning. In our preschool special needs class, we don't have text books or work books and our curriculum all needs printed out. If we had a color printer in our room, we could print and use all the curriculum as it is intended to be used. Many items we print are fine black and white, however when working on colors the activities obviously need to be in color. We have other snack, science, craft, etc. activities that would be more engaging if presented in color.
Students love hands on learning!
Many of the activities we print are laminated or placed in sheet protectors to be used over and over by all the students. Our Math and English/Language Arts activities are also sometimes printed, laminated, an used with velcro, so students can be more engaged in choosing the correct answer. These activities can be used multiple times as students take turns in the different centers. Please consider adding color to our world!
