This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I love my kindergarteners! Each one has a unique story to tell, and a unique way to tell it! My class is an ICT class in a Title 1 school. About a third of the kids have IEPs and the majority come from low income families. Some of my kids are new to the country, some have learning or behavioral challenges, and some have challenges at home. But each child comes to school with a curious mind and a five-year-old’s can do spirit!
My Project
The importance of color in an early childhood classroom can’t be overestimated. Color is engaging, captures attention and promotes prolonged focus. Color is a powerful organizing tool. Color is clarifying, especially when printing photographs and other images. The Brother Wireless All-In-One Printer is an inexpensive workhorse! Coupled with Brother high-yield cartridges, I can produce colorful learning materials individualized for each student’s needs. Imagine picture sorts, matching games, literacy activities all in color! My students work hard all year long learning to read and write, to add and subtract, and to understand their world. Donating to this project would powerfully impact their learning and development. Thank you!
