My students need color printed materials on a daily basis to enhance their learning stations and understanding of concepts. Having a color printer would allow for my students to print their own projects as well.
My students come to school every day with a smile on their face and excitement to learn what we will be doing each day. We take time to care about one another before we start our day. We begin with a "Hello Circle". We take turns saying hello to one another, looking each other in the eyes, and saying one positive comment before moving on. This has built a wonderful community in our classroom.
Many of my students were affected by Hurricane Harvey.
They were displaced from their homes and live with relatives or in temporary living facilities. Our school is a Title I school in Porter, Texas where 96% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. We recently received the No Excuses University recognition. We believe that every one of our students are college bound!
We regularly receive the perfect attendance award weekly. Our students want to be at school and are eager to learn more. They believe they will be successful one day and so do I!
My students would benefit from our classroom having a color printer for our use. Kindergarten students utilize learning stations for literacy and math on a daily basis, this require the use of color printed materials.
Learning in color makes everything brighter!
Each month our stations are rotated every 2 weeks. This requires the creation of meaningful activities that are reusable and durable. Color activity cards, games, and pictures are imperative to enhancing students' learning. My students are excited when they see brightly colored materials for their learning.
We use a great deal of technology in our classroom as well. Most of our programs allow for students to print their products. Without a color printer in our classroom, this is not possible and disappointing for the children. It would be wonderful to allow their learning to come to life in color!
