This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students attend an inner city public school where approximately ninety percent live below the poverty line. We spend a lot of time doing hands-on learning! All of our students receive a free or reduced-price lunch and participate in the backpack program on the weekends. This does not stop our students from coming to school and showing their love for learning. We love to explore everything around us, both inside and outside of the classroom. We love to show what we know and learn in a hands-on way!
My Project
These materials will make a difference because many of my students do not get to many chances to use paint materials. We like to complete many crafts and art projects in our Kindergarten classroom. These art projects have been limited due to the limited resources we have available in the classroom.
We have an art easel in the classroom without paint.
We have been using crayons for the students to color. By having paint and paint brushes will make a huge difference not only creating art projects but in my centers as well. Students will be able to use paint and paint brushes on the art easel instead of crayons.
The paint cups will help keep the mess limited. Having colored paint brushes will help keep the paint area organized and clean. The hand sanitizer and wipes will help for an easy clean up.
I love seeing the pride in their eyes when they create a pretty picture and are able to take it home and display it for their family. The markers will allow them to proudly write their names on the paper! It makes so many memories.
