On my class list are 24 energetic children whom I have the challenge of being engaging while teaching and making us into a community. Even though more than half of my class is below grade level, they are very creative and when given challenges, they really are amazing! I truly love these guys!
Having lots of energy myself, we tend to get up, move, rap, and dance concepts with "attitude" just to keep all of us engaged.
I need to keep things changing and switch things up as I teach from day to day.
My Project
Every year it is reaffirmed that students learn and retain what they have learned when the arts are integrated with our core subjects. I have two very special students who respond to being able to draw pictures about what we are learning. Their little brains make maps...it's called mind mapping.
Being that we are not allowed to share supplies, it has become necessary to add to the art supplies I currently have.
We got along fine with what I had last year because I could have the students share art materials.
Writing is an area where the children love to create a masterpiece to go with the story they have written. I am excited to have them use different mediums to execute their artistic endeavors!
