My students are starting to create artwork and projects using technology such as iPads, the SMART board, and computers but they do not have a color printer to make their projects come to life.
My 19 first grade students love coming to school everyday.
They are kind to one another and we have all built a great relationship with each other this year. We are a title one school in a tourist town in Florida. All of my students come to class with their own set of strengths. My students have many different learning styles and love to share with each other what they have learned, or what they have written in class. I have to set aside time everyday so the students can share what they have created in class. They are eager to learn and love to learn new things. They get excited when we discuss what we will be learning for the week. Our classroom environment is inviting and the students know that they are in a safe place where they can create and learn without worrying about being wrong or feeling unwelcome. I am excited to write a project that will allow them to print out their creations.
My Project
I am asking for a color printer for our classroom. Having a color printer will change how my students complete projects in our classroom. A printer will give students the ability to print what they are working on in class and share with their classmates, families, and friends. My students love creating art and stories on the computer and iPads. Now they will be able to print those stories to take home.
My students would be using the color printer to print illustrations for book covers, print pictures for their book reports, and create printouts of different things they researched that they would present to the class. With all our collaborative learning we have been doing, the students will each be able to take home what they have created together.
Having a color printer in our classroom will impact the life of each of my students.
They are so creative and work well together and I would love for them to have their work forever. Since many of my students do not have technology at home, they need to be able to print out their creations to share with their family. My students are proud of their work and I hope that you can help me allow them to bring some color into their world.
