Mrs. Menard from Atlanta GA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a color printer with ink and toner to display classroom projects.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My school only has ONE color printer for the entire school and unfortunately it's usually jammed or out of order! My students complete a lot of projects on the computer and LOVE seeing their work displayed-in COLOR! This printer would allow them & others to see & admire their hard work!!!
I am the educator of lower income, inner city students housed in a school building of 100% African American students receiving 100% free and reduced lunch.
Unfortunately, they come to me ill prepared, underexposed, and unmotivated. Many students do not even have access to any technology other than what they see in school, and in the public library. Access to a colored photo printer would bring my students' projects to life! For my students especially, this access has the power to change their social structure by allowing them to become empowered and engaged.
We will use our computers to make colorful brochures and informative graphs, among many other projects. The students work hard to make them bright and attractive, only to have them print out in black in white, which can be rather disappointing. A color printer will allow my students to feel a sense of pride with their completed work. They will be able to "show off" their hard work. The color printer is a great way to motivate students to do their very best work!
There are many things that motivate students.
I have realized that my students feel a sense of accomplishment in seeing their work displayed. This HP Color Printer will bring our classroom to life by displaying a bright arrangement of completed projects and assignments. It might seem small to some, but to these students it means the world to see their work on the wall and IN COLOR! Help me make this a reality for my kids!
