Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
All of my students are English language learners. These students come from many countries including El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, etc. English is not spoken in their homes. Many of my students have never been to school, so this is their first opportunity for learning. Most of the students at this school qualify for reduced-price or free lunches. Many students do not have books at home, so school is the only opportunity to read about new topics. Many of these students also have special needs, so I work harder to make learning occur.
I see the excitement in my students' faces when they are learning.
They enjoy learning and are excited to share with friends, family, and others what they are learning each day. I want to continue to help them learn and keep them excited in the process. I want to do everything I can to best serve my students and let them know that someone truly cares about them and will advocate for their best interests.
My Project
Help us get ink for our donated classroom printer. The school will not supply the ink, so we need help so that we can continue to create amazing projects. Coming up soon, we will be learning about different biomes and the plants and animals that live there. We will be creating different biomes, plants, and animals, and we want it to be nice and colorful.
My students are excited to start this next project.
They are excited talking about which biome they want to create, and the kinds of animals that live there. Seeing the biomes in color will allow the students to see what the biomes truly look like. Black and white just won't do.
