I have a great group of students. I have thirteen girls and nine boys in my class. They are very active. We integrate movement in our classroom to help them learn. They need to be engaged to learn. They enjoy hands-on experiences and experiences with technology. They have been successful using ozobots, Spheros, cod-a-pillars, and Beebots as introductions to coding. Technology is a wonderful way to keep them engaged. They also love the many centers and tabletop games I make to reinforce learned skills.
They are growing every day and love learning.
They work well together to complete group tasks and LOVE a good challenge. I encourage them to challenge each other but most importantly challenge themselves. I love seeing them surpass what they originally thought they could accomplish.
My Project
I would love to see the students have access to color activities, centers, and games. However, there is limited funding for color printing. Having a color printer will provide me the opportunity to color code subject areas and create more engaging games for the students. I make centers for math and English-Language Arts! Students rotate through at a minimum of 20 games a week that reinforce learning. As of now, almost all of the games are black and white. Children love color! When they have access to learning stations in color, they are drawn to them. It seems like such a little thing that makes a big difference.
