Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students attend a K-5 neighborhood school in a small town. We are a Title I school and all students receive free breakfast and free lunch. My students come from low-income backgrounds. Yet, even though they do not have much money and resources, my students have a great passion for education! As with all students, my babies have diverse learning styles. Some are visual learners, some are auditory learners, some learn best through reading/writing, and some are kinesthetic learners.

My students love to watch, listen, and participate in hands-on lessons.

My Project

My students need the basics...new crayons and pencils. Crayola crayons are simply the best... they are bright, vivid, and color true and children love bright colors. The Ticonderoga large pencils are easy for little hands to grip, help with fine motor control, and they don't break easily. The children color and write everyday and they go through a lot of crayons and pencils in a school year's time.

All children love to color and write.

Crayons are a great tool for children to express creativity. They love to use them for art projects and everyday class work. And... pencils are just a necessity for everyday learning. Crayons, pencils, and a child's imagination equal pure magic!
