Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to my classroom! I have a high energy classroom filled with excited learners. Our class includes students with learning disabilities, English learners, and mainstream students.
Our school is a Title I school, meaning that most of my students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
Many of these students come to school without the basic supplies needed to assist them in their education. A few of my students would not have breakfast or lunch if we were not able to provide it for them through Title I. Our school and our staff do a wonderful job to not only meet the educational needs of our students, but also many of their personal needs.
I want to be able to do more than just meet basic needs. I desire for my classroom to be warm and inviting, a place each child can feel they are of value and can have the opportunity to become the best person they can be.
My Project
My students are very responsive to a print rich, colorful, learning environment. Vibrant anchor charts and colorful print materials entice them to participate in learning opportunities far quicker than if everything were in black and white. A color printer would bring their world of learning to life.
We need a color printer to make our classroom vibrant and exciting!
A color printer would print decodable books to build phonetic skills and fluency, anchor charts for Daily 5 centers and routines that can be laminated and posted around the room, game pieces and manipulatives used to reinforce newly learned literacy and math skills, and colorful certificates of achievement.
