My Students

Movement is a huge outlet for students who may not always excel in the classroom. Our students learn and practice life skills, social emotional skills, sportsmanship and teamwork through active play and team sports in the gym and on the field. My students demonstrate these skills every day when they give each other complements/shout outs at the end of class.

My students are life long learners.

Our Physical Education class and after school activities help support them in becoming healthy balanced lifelong movers and doers.

Our school is a school of promise. Our program does not have outside help for funding, and many of our students don’t have resources or opportunities to engage in team sports or organized physical activity outside of school. I believe that it is so important for every student to receive a high quality physical education program and all the opportunities that come with it, no matter their socioeconomic status.

My Project

Station activities are something I use almost daily with my younger students to allow for maximum engagement in a variety of skills and activities during PE class. Using different colored durable cones at each stations helps guide students to where they are supposed to be. The electrical tape used to mark boundaries for each station also helps students stay focused and on task at their station.

The use of colors and a clear organized gym set up is key in helping classroom management and student success in a Physical Education setting.

In past years my students have not had much structure and organization in PE class. With something as basic as this new equipment I can provide the structures and tools needed for ALL of my students to be successful during PE.
