Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in Central Phoenix, in a Title I school. We have a large population receiving free or reduced-price lunch, and many of my students can't afford basic school supplies. I work hard at helping my students believe in themselves and setting high expectations in both their academic life and personal life.

My students want to be the best person that they can be.

Our school is often compared to a wealthier school nearby and our kids understand they have monetary limitations their counterparts do not and that often hurts their pride. We, as a school, work hard to help our kids strive for their personal best and help in every way we can.

My Project

If there is one item a classroom can never have too much of, it is paper! By supporting this project you will be providing my students with brightly colored paper for manipulatives and foldables. Who doesn't like brightening their day with a little colored paper?

Utilizing a variety of colors of paper throughout a school day adds vibrancy and organization to a classroom and provides students options when organizing their thinking and creating visual aids and presentations.

The paper provided by this project will allow students to create interactive and hand-ons manipulatives, interactive notes, foldables, and much more. My students love seeing what color they will use for the next activity. Colored paper is great for organization. Colored paper is also a great way to promote parent involvement. Sending home bright paper tends to catch the eye. Thank you for supporting my bright hardworking students!
