Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach math to about 100 students. Many of them come from low-income families; our school provides free or reduced lunch to about 60% of our population. My students love music, soccer, and fun learning activities.
My students are active and bright students that deserve the best!
My students come from large families and often need to share school materials among their siblings. They often come into class without pencils, paper, or even a backpack. I wish to help my students as much as possible and hope you will too!
My Project
Our class is currently distance learning and I would like some materials to show students examples through our web classroom. The Expo markers and eraser will be great teaching tools for our lessons. I would love to use different colors for color-coding notes and examples. This has been shown to help students be organized, deepen understanding, and make math more interesting. I will use the card stock paper to create flat 2D math manipulatives for student learning as some of the math tools are not well equipped for online learning. I can’t wait to create more color and fun in my math class!
